Companies can get away with charging higher prices because there are no smaller, independent companies that can jump in and offer a better price. Additionally, college students make for an essentially captive audience; books are required materials, so they must purchase them.

Miami Dade College does not provide student housing facilities for local or international students. However, each college campus will try to assist students to locate housing in the community.

Located on 245 acres in northern Miami-Dade County, North Campus was the College's first. It is home to a variety of academic and career training programs and also houses several unique programs.
