Chronon Sources - Quantum Break Guide - IGN (2024)

Chronon Sources allow Jack to upgrade his abilities. There are a total of 60 to collect. When you're in close proximity of a Chronon, your Time Vision icon will flash. By activating the ability the Chronon Source becomes visible.

Below is every Chronon Source in Quantum Break sorted by each act and section. There are no Chronon Sources in Act 1. You aren't able to upgrade Jack's Time Powers until Act 2.

Spoiler warning: The names for each act sections are included with the Chronon Sources. Proceed with caution.

Act 2

The first Chronon Sources appear in Act 2. There are 19 Chronon Sources across the three parts of Act 2.

Act 2-1 Industrial Area

Act 2-1 has a total of 7 Chronon Sources. The first Chronon Source is in the corner of the warehouse where Jack breaks out of the van. It's by some stacked pallets of wood.

The following Chronon Source is in the next warehouse outside of the locked control room. It's easy to miss if you don't check the Time Vision as you'll be walking on a platform just above it.

The third Chronon Source is on the second floor in the warehouse where you first fight Monarch guards. You'll run into the Chronon Source on the way to the door out of the building.

The next three are a lot more out of the way. Get to the train yard, then climb the car with crates that's in the northeast corner of the yard. It has a ramp leading up to another car.

Climb up the ramp and run along the train car toward the scaffolding. First, go left and then use Time Vision to find the first Chronon Source.

Then, turn around and jump across to the next train car that has a short white plank hanging off it. This is how to get the Chronon Source that's locked in the building before the gate.

Once you're on the the car, jump across to the building. There's a hole in the ceiling. Drop down fromt that and you'll be able to get the Chronon Source in the corner.

The next Chronon Source is also in the train yard, but in the southwest corner. To access it, you'll once again need to climb up on a train car and do a little bit of platforming.

For this one, climb up on the train car you need to use to access the window to progress in the level, but instead of going into the wooden bridge, take a left and jump on the metal slanted roof.

From there, you can jump to a blue shipping container then jump over the fense. You'll see the Chronon Source in this lot with your Time Vision.

Act 2-2 Ground Zero

There are seven Chronon Sources in Act 2-2. The first one is behind a gate that can be accessed after jack rides the crane of wooden planks to the second level. After you jump across, head down the stairs that are against the corner. Down there you'll find the first Chronon Source in the corner.

On your way to the door on the other side of the room, Jack ends up on a third level with pipes and storage areas. Instead of jumping down to the second level that leads toward the door, take a left and you'll see a hole where you can enter a locked room.

Back here is the second Chronon Source.

The third Chronon Source is in the lot with the Monarch trailer. It's on top of a light tower.

The next Chronon Source is in the the back left corner of the boat building where you have to explode the canisters to get through the door. The Chronon Source is behind a gas container.

Right after you exit the first Monarch tent that acts sort of as a clean room, run to the right and head to the back of the lot. The fifth Chronon Source is on the trunk of a graffiti elephant.

You'll find the seventh Chronon Source outside of the long tent hallway. Run through it, then when you emerge, walk straight forward and the Chronon Source is to the left behind a weird machine next to a Green Zone sign.

In the weapons tent, you'll find the last Chronon Source of the act behind a rack of jackets and cabinets on the left side of the tent.

Act 2-3 Bradbury Swimming pool

The first Chronon Source is on the roof of the building. Instead of jumping up to the broken roof entrance from the scaffolding, go left and jump up on the pillar to get to the roof.

The second Chronon Source is in a cabinet right by the open window where you can enter the building from the scaffolding.

The next Chronon Source is in the small black and white tiled room that's just by the staircase on the second floor.

The fourth Chronon Source is at the very end of the entry hall. After coming down the staircase, turn right and walk all the way down. There's a small room with a red ladder in it.

The last Chronon Source in Act 2-3 is in the swimming pool area, but in the east workspace. You'll find it toward the back corner of the area.

Act 3

Act 3 has a total of 16 Chronon Sources between the two parts.

Act 3-1 Research Facility

The first of eight Chronon Sources in Act 3-1 is right by the first turret you disable. Take it out, then walk a few steps back and you'll see a cannon facing the water. The Chronon Source is on the stairway leading up to the cannon.

The next Chronon Source is hidden away. Rebuild the cannon in the next area by manipulating time, then instead of climbing up it and going left, go right and jump up on the wall. Keep following it on the right and you'll find the other Chronon Source.

Cross the cannon then go left at the door down the stairs. Chronon Source three is at the bottom of these stairs.

The next Chronon Source is on the helepad outside of the radio tower.

Don't enter the radio tower just yet. Instead, run past the door and go down stairs to the tower. Below the radio tower is a Chronon Source.

The next Chronon Source is a ways off. Once you've reached the labs, go to the left of them to find a Chronon Source in front of a map and some signs.

The other Chronon Source is close to the previous one, but can only be accessed from the Monarch R&D lobby. Kill the guards by the door of the lobby, then walk down the back left hallways to get the Chronon Source. It leads you behind the labs.

The last Chronon Source is in the office area behind some lockers on the first floor.

Act 3-2 Monarch Gala

There are eight Chronon Sources in Act 3-2. The first is in the first room you enter in the section. Head up the stairs on the left and you'll find the Chronon Source in the second floor meeting room with the long table and yellow chairs.

The second Chronon Source is in the research facility garage lobby. It's next to the elevator by a map of the facility and the stairs.

After taking out all the Monarch men in the garage, you'll find the third Chronon Source in the Roof Access room to the right of the stairs.

Once your outside, head up the stairs and you'll see a fence with a "No Trespassing" sign. Head up the Chronon Source is right in front of the sign.

The next Chronon Source isn't for awhile. The fourth Chronon Source is at the gala. Use Time Vision by the podium to find it.

The sixthChronon Source is also in the gala area. Just past the bar is a couch with a piece of intel. Next to the couch is a Chronon Source. This is in the back corner of the event space.

Chronon Source seven is outside of Dr. Amaral's room. Before entering the room, walk down the long dock. You'll find the Chronon Source behind the left pillar.

The last Chronon Source is in the gardens with the big firefight. Take out the enemies in the little patio area, and you'll find the Chronon Source in a corner by a couch.

Act 4

There are 15 Chronon Sources in Act 4.

Act 4-1 Port Donnelly Bridge

The first two of six Chronon Sources in Act 4-1 are at the very beginning of the level. Walk straight into the alley toward the blue dumpster. The first Chronon Source is in the stairway leading down to a door.

The second Chronon Source is on top of a small building in the alleyway. Climb up the dumpster and stacked pallets to access the roof. The Chronon Source is on the roof.

Chronon Source 3 is outside of the building by the docks. Exit the building, and when Jack climbs out of the window, turn around instead of going down the ladder.

The next Chronon Source is at the end of the docks by a fense. Before climbing up to the bridge, you'll find a Chronon Source on the fence on the other end of the area with the ladder to the bridge.

Climb up to the top part of the bridge where Monarch has set up its blockade. The next Chronon Source is in the traffic jam by a Monarch truck.

The last Chronon Source is at the top of the bridge. Jack climbs up to the top then needs to take another ladder down to walk across the bridge. Before going down, you can find the last Chronon Source by the ladder that leads down. The Chronon Source is hanging off the edge of the bridge railing.

Act 4-2 Preparing the Time Machine

Act 4-2 has three Chronon Sources. The first is in the seats on the left side of the building behind the time machine computers.

The second Chronon Source is in the men's bathroom that you use to climb up to the diving board. It's in the stall in the corner. You can see if from the door.

The last Chronon Source is on the path leading to the second time machine breaker.

Act 4-3 Swimming Pool 2010

There are only three Chronon Sources in Act 4-3, and they're all pretty easy to find. The first you'll come across is in the far east part of the swimming hall by the toolboxes.

The next Chronon Source is on the staircase between the bathrooms.

The last Chronon Source is in the men's locker room.

Act 4-4 Will's Workshop 2010

This section only has three Chronon Sources. The first Chronon Source is outside of Will's workshop. Before entering, run left of the entrance all the way to the along the gate till you reach the dead end. The Chronon Source is at the end of this path.

The second Chronon Source is behind Will's main workspace along the wall. This is the workspace that's elevated on a platform and the one where you first walkthrough when entering. Behind his desks is a Chronon Source is the corner.

The third Chronon Source is up high. Go to the far northwest corner of the warehouse and climb the stacked crates to get to the second level. The Chronon Source is on one of the green support beams on the wall.

Act 5

The final act of Quantum Break has 10 Chronon Sources across its three acts.

Act 5-1 Monarch HQ

The first of three Chronon Sources is in the reception area. Walk past the elevators and the Chronon Source is in front of the men's bathroom door.

The Chronon Sources in this part are kind of far apart from each other. The second one is in the the meeting room that's next to a server room. You enter this room after walking past all the defeated Monarch guards. It's to the right of the open door you enter from.

The last Chronon Source is in Paul's room. It's in the picture hanging above Paul's bed.

ACt 5-2 Return to the University

The first of five Chronon Sources is in the lab. Before taking the elevator down, go up the stairs at the end of the lab and the Chronon Source is in a coat rack.

The next Chronon Source is outside on top of the shell for the time machine core. You can climb up the side of the fork lift that's pulling the structure.

The third Chronon Source is in the garage lobby to the right of Paul Serene's Focus Article.

Chronon Source 4 is halfway up the crane. Jack stopps at a platform and needs to climb up another ladder to get to the top of the crane. Before climbing up, you can get the Chronon Source on the small platform.

The last Chronon Source is in the small reading room in the chemistry lecture building. It's on a painting in the back corner.

Act 5-3 Final Moments

There are two final Chronon Sources in Quantum Break in Act 5-3. The first is to your right when you exit the taxi. It's in the corner of the yard by the dumpster.

The last Chronon Source is in the swimming hall. It's in the shower stalls to the right of the door to the time machine lab. While Will opens the door to the time machine, go around the corner on the right and grab the last Chronon Source.
